Alabama just enacted the toughest immigration law in the country, which was backed by nearly unanimous political support and includes such provisions as revoking business licenses and an inability to enter into contracts with illegal immigrants. While some provisions that it contains have been upheld by the Supreme Court, it’s very likely that this law will be repeatedly challenged as other weaker immigration laws have.
