Hovsep Kousouyan, owner of Malibu Beach House sued Ricki Lake for burning down the beach house. He alleged that his multi-million home was burnt down due to Lake’s negligence. Law enforcement said that Lake was refilling a portable heater with oil when the couch caught on fire. Even though the fire was ruled as an accident, Lake can be held liable for it if Kousouyan can prove that she was negligent in her actions.
