Sidley Austin has named former Clifford Chance 
partner Stephen Roith co-head of its capital markets group in London. In the role, Roith will focus on capital markets and structured finance transactions.
Thomas A. Cole, chair of Sidley Austin’s executive committee, said Roith will support the growth of the firm’s European capital markets practice and of its English law capital markets practice in its Asia Pacific offices.
Roith has experience in developed and emerging markets capital markets and is active in a broad range of international securities and finance transactions, which includes secured and unsecured Eurobond issues, subordinated and high yield debt, tax and regulatory capital motivated structured finance.
Sidley’s global securities practice has more than 125 lawyers in the U.S., Europe, Asia and Australia with a primary focus in the area of capital markets.
