Perkins Coie, which in April cut 12 attorneys and 26 staff, has announced minor salary cuts for associates.
The cuts will average a mere 3.8%, and go into effect September 1st. In certain markets, the salary cuts will be deferred until competitors cut their associate pay.
The firm intends to avoid having layoffs for the rest of 2009.
Perkins Coie is an international law firm based in Seattle, Washington. The firm is ranked number 86 on the list of the world’s largest law firms by 2006 revenue and has been listed on the Fortune Magazine “100 Best Places to Work in America” for the past seven years.
