DC BarWhile The District of Columbia Bar considers deferring due payments for unemployed lawyers, it has voted to raise annual dues from $195 to $224.

Inactive members will pay $126, up from $121; judicial members will pay $113, a $15 hike.

The Bar put off a decision about deferring payment of 2009 bar dues to March, 2010, for lawyers in “economic hardship.” The board will consult with bar members to see if the deferral is necessary.
